Noodles’ beans on toast
These are not just any beans on toast… these are Noodles’ beans on toast with lovely sautéed onions and melted cheese on crunchy toast. Yummy!
Ingredients
1 tin of baked beans
A nugget of cheddar cheese
2 slices of wholemeal bread
1 onion
Drizzle of olive oil
Cooking Method
Step 1
Before you start to cook, make sure that you’ve washed your hands really well. Then, get all your ingredients ready.
Step 2
First, grate the cheese into small pieces. Be careful not to grate your fingers!
Step 3
Next, peel the skin off the onion. Ask a grown-up to help and be careful if you use the knife. Then, chop the onion in half and cut again into small pieces.
Step 4
Put a little olive oil into a big pan and ask a grown-up to turn on the oven hob. Cook the onions slowly and gently, stirring them until they turn golden brown. Use a low heat and be careful they don’t burn.
Step 5
Then, tip in the beans into the pan with your onions and stir to mix all the flavours together. The onions are sweet and give the beans a lovely flavour.
Step 6
Add the grated cheese and stir it all through until the cheese melts. Your yummy cheesy beans mix is ready!
Step 7
For the toast, put your two slices of wholemeal bread into a toaster and wait until it pops up.
Step 8
